4 Easy Steps to Organize Your Makeup Drawer for a Calm Morning Routine

Want to find a way to streamline your morning makeup routine? Organize your makeup drawer! With a little effort and organization, you can save time and make your morning routine more calm and breezy, and you won't have to dig through a messy drawer for mascara buried at the bottom.

A morning routine is just as important as the rest of your day. It sets the tone for your day, and can help you feel more prepared, energized, and ready to take on whatever comes your way. It is also a time for self-care in which you can focus on yourself and your needs before taking care of others. Makeup can be a great way to boost your self-confidence and feel empowered!

When your makeup drawer is organized, you know what you have and can find what you need quickly. Below are steps and tips on organizing your makeup drawer so you'll have a more calm morning routine.

1. Empty Your Drawer

The first step is to take everything out of your drawer and put it in a pile on the countertop or floor. Take this time to clean off any product residue inside your drawer space before putting anything back in.

2. Sort Items into Categories

Next, take a look at all of your products. Put similar items together so you can see them all at once. Start by grouping like items: lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, makeup brushes and so on.

Once you have all of your makeup grouped together, go through each group and decide what should stay and what should go. When you take inventory of what you have, you may find that there are products that you no longer use or are expired. Yes, makeup does expire! Purge any old makeup you don't use anymore or unused cosmetics sitting in your drawer for a long time. When was the last time you used it?

If you are wondering how to find a makeup expiration date, there is a PAO symbol that should be on the product. It stands for "period after opening." The number is the amount of time you have before the makeup expires. For example, if the PAO symbol on a product says 12M, it can be used for 12 months from when it was first opened.

3. Shop for a Makeup Organizer that Fits Your Needs and Style

There are many types of drawer organizers available in the market, and it’s important to find a storage solution that works for you. The most popular ones are trays, which help create compartments in the drawer space.

MY FAVOURITE ITEM

I use this drawer organizer set from Amazon for my makeup drawer - a great option for keeping everything tidy and neat.

Consider taking into account the materials that the organizer is made from, its function, and how it will fit in with the rest of your bathroom decor or other drawer organizers or containers you're already using.

The goal of organizing your makeup is to quickly find what you need when you need it. This will make it easier for you to grab your beauty essentials in the morning when you are running late or don't have time to search through piles of beauty products.

4. Storing Makeup - Put it All Together!

Lastly, put everything back into the drawer neatly and enjoy having a nice organized makeup drawer! Figure out which products are everyday makeup and should be kept in the front of your drawer for easy access.

So there you have it! Organizing your makeup drawer is a great way to save time and make your morning routine more calm and breezy.
